Daily Update - Mohammad Elkady - (June-02-2022)

1.  What did I do today?

I have completed the 6-hour CMG Tutorial about Builder and IMEX.

2.  What did I find interesting/Work on? 

In this part of the course and after we added all the input data into Builder software, we started the simulation using the Black oil simulator IMEX (because the tutorial is about IMEX) and after that we used RESULTS software to do history matching and compare between actual data (.fhf files) and the simulated data (.sr3 files).

·      It is more efficient to do history matching using CMOST

·      When you do have difference between actual data and simulated data you must modify your parameters to match the actual data.

·      CMOST is the best tool to do that by providing ranges for your properties and see how that property affects you results.

·      To start your forecasting, first you have to add the dates range and set constraints for your well for example “Surface oil rate” as an economic parameter.

3.  What will I do next? 

After learning the main concepts of simulation and forecasting using CMG Software, I will look for other tutorials about CMG STARS and try to focus on Chemical EOR Simulation. Also, I will keep reading more papers about Chemical EOR Simulation.
