Daily Update - Mohammad Elkady - (June-10-2022)

1.  What did I do today?

Today, I had a meeting with Dr. misra discussing more about research, I have prepped a summary present with current updates, and I searched for more CMG practices.

2.  What did I find interesting/Work on? 

I put together a summary presentation summarize the previous practices like the introduction to CMG Tutorial example project.

Finally, I found a CMG course related to the work we are going to do called Modelling Shale, tight oil and gas reservoirs.

The course content:

·      Input shale gas reservoir characteristics (e.g. adsorption and diffusion)

·      Model a dual permeability system with a natural fracture network

·      Model planar and complex hydraulic fractures

·      Incorporate microseismic data

·      Perform sensitivity analyses and history matches for a tight reservoir using CMOST

·      Hands-on experience using GEM and IMEX for:

·      Shale gas

·      Tight oil

·      Tight gas-condensate

I reached out to the authors of the IHS article ‘How to Manage Permian Basin Water Cut’ and waiting for their response to discuss more about the topic with them.

3.  What will I do next? 

I will practice CMG GEM through the course I got and try to build reliable models.
