Daily Update - Mohammad Elkady - (June-15-2022)

1.  What did I do today?

Today, I finished the first part of the Modelling of Shale, tight oil, and gas reservoirs tutorial. Also, I gathered simulation-based papers about Permian Basin.

2.  What did I find interesting/Work on?

Today’s focus was on importing a geologic, heterogeneous shale model using RESCUE file and hydraulic fracturing based on micro seismic data, and applying different types of Hydraulic fracturing, Planar fractures, Complex fractures and importing fractures from a third-party software. (As shown in the pictures below)

Also, I gathered around 5 simulation-based papers and I will extract the simulation parameters from them to help in creating a realistic model.

3.  What will I do next? 

I will keep practicing CMG GEM software to build a realistic model and I will try to extract realistic parameters from the simulation-based papers.
