Daily Update - Mohammad Elkady - (June-16-2022)

1.  What did I do today?

Today, I ran over the older version of the CMG tutorial I have, and I read URTeC-2020-2787

2.  What did I find interesting/Work on?

I did not find the older version of the CMG tutorial more beneficial than the one I already did.

-       URTeC 2020-2787

o   Instead of modelling the whole lengths of wells, a sector grid was extracted with layer thickness that extend through the Permian shale formations.

o   Single-stage model with 8 Planar fractures for each well of the two.

o   The Sector represent only 2% of horizontal lateral length to reduce the computational time.

o   Fractures are discretely placed in the structural grid using embedded discrete fracture model.

o   Reservoir properties in the table below based on samples and log petrophysical data

o   They characterized 9 pseudo components and tuned the PREOS parameters with detailed compositional laboratory analysis.

o   The fine-tuned properties of the fluid pseudo components are listed in Table 2, and the composition of initial reservoir fluid and the reinjected field gas are listed in Table 3.

o   I tried to simulate one of the well used but due to limited data I could not build a proper model but I will try again

3.  What will I do next?

I will keep searching for more simulation-based papers addressing Permian basin and I will extract the used parameters and try to build a realistic model.
