Daily Update - Mohammad Elkady - (July-06-2022)

1.   What did I do today?

Today, I attended the second day of the CMG online Course.

2.   What did I find interesting/Work on?

Day 2

            - Dual perm is required in hydraulically fractured wells and dual por is required if the permeability of the matrix is very small.

            - Forecasting different futures

                        ○ Add range of dates first (Wells and recurrent)

                        ○ Check you constraints for the wells

§ Monitor your oil production to shut it when it becomes uneconomic

§ Operate your well at specific conditions like BHP

§ CONT means do correct the next time step (after the violation)

§ CONT REPEAT means do correct the current time step (same as the violation)

§ It is better to have two constraints for injectors

                        ○ Do your base prediction case

                        ○ Change wells to injector (For water injection) by adding new wells and shut in the old wells you want to convert into injectors

            - When adding a new well use the constraint of the closest well

            - You can enable all the flux outputs from the simulation output in builder to have an idea about the fluid streamline in the reservoir

            - in CEDIT if you do know keyword select and press f1

            - Best practice in refinements is 3

            - Typical workflow for CMOST

            - Tracer option is very helpful in tracing the injected water vs the reservoir water

            - GEM is required if you are modelling Volatile oil or interested in compositional modelling

3.   What will I do next?

Next, I will work on the new model with normal water cut model till I have a good history match with both oil and water rates.
