1.   What did I do today?

I prepared PowerPoint slides for Aramco’s meeting and did more investigation regarding the oscillations we have in the GOR plot

2.   What did I find interesting/Work on?

I finalized the slide deck for the Aramco’s meeting including the 25 simulations and we got the following comments:

·         The oscillations in the GOR and CGR are maybe because of non-smoothen derivative for Bo.

·         We have a very low range for our production profiles

I have done more investigation on the oscillations issue, and I did test two exact same models just different in permeability, porosity and water saturation.

One notice we can observe that the permeability values we are assigning are very low values as shown in the comparison below.

And the oscillations are more to appear in these ultra-low permeability trials as shown in the plot below.

One possible solution to solve the oscillations issue and also will widen the production profile as suggested by the Aramco team is to use higher values for the permeability.

 

3.   What will I do next? 

I will address this solution with Dr. Misra and we will see if that solution can be executed and another range should be determined.
